Verite La Joie was inspired by the finest wines from the Pauillac region of Bordeaux. La Joie is derived from a layered concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon red wine vines grown along the steep hillsides and volcanic benches of the Mayacamas Mountains. Vigneron Pierre Seillan tends to a mosaic of more than fifty micro-crus to produce the complex signature of La Joie. This complex red wine displays a brilliant violet core with a thin rim of bright ruby. Generous fruit-forward aromas of ripe black currant and black cherry are followed by earthy notes of fresh conifer, dried mushroom, black olive, dusty clay, anise, and clove. The palate is rich and structured with refined tannins, well-balanced acidity, and a luscious finish. Pair with grilled ribeye, rack of lamb, cassoulet and hard aged cheeses. This bottled California red blend is 14.3% alcohol by volume.
